In 2004, I founded The Nexus Foundation. Nexus creates
events
for small charitable organizations. Nexus planned, coordinated and directed three Christmas Benefit Balls in Evergreen,
Colorado. Working extensively with musicians, volunteers, site selection, food and beverage, and a silent auction, this
small event doubled and tripled in proceeds with each year. Proceeds were distributed to mountain charities.
Prior to forming Nexus, on a personal level, I had the honor of making a difference for the following causes:
- Recruited walkers and donations
for the Mountain Area Pregnancy Center’s Walk-A-Thon (2002).
- Raised $400 at a social gathering.
Purchased gifts & food for benefit of single mothers and their children (Christmas 2002).
- Co-emceed 911 Benefit at The Little Bear Saloon, Evergreen, CO to raise
funds for the 911 Victim Fund. Raised over $8,000 (October 2001).
- Recruited 13 volunteers for
“Make A Difference Day” (2001) to provide labor to a disabled, elderly woman’s home in dire need of
repairs and cleaning.
- Invited guest speaker, Rainbow Bridge Gala Event, over 2,000 attendees (2000).
My volunteer efforts are as varied as I am. When I’m drawn to a particular
need, I spring to action to inspire friends to help.
